ICCF is extending its collaboration by supporting the formation and launch of the Oceans Caucus Foundation (OCF) within its organizational structure. The Oceans Caucus Foundation has assembled a powerful collaboration of public and private sector organizations to educate U.S. and international policymakers about issues of ocean conservation worldwide, including establishing a balance between the needs of ecosystems and fishing, tourism, and transportation industries.
Like ICCF, the Oceans Caucus Foundation recognizes the importance of conservation and the link between good natural resource management and sustainable economic growth, and focuses specifically on ocean issues. The Oceans Caucus Foundation joins ICCF’s collaboration of like-minded corporate and NGO partners to help forge bold new solutions in maritime conservation. The OCF also works hand in hand with the strong global network of partner nations in ICCF’s Conservation Council of Nations to establish and foster relationships with partners and government leaders and to build consensus on issues relating to oceans.
Working with the leadership of the Oceans Caucus in the United States House of Representatives and United States Senate, Conservation Council of Nations partner embassies in Washington and their parliaments at home, the OCF is able to adequately address oceanic issues by bringing together leaders from all of the communities that depend on oceans. ICCF envisions the Oceans Caucus Foundation as a means to specifically address the conservation needs of coastal ecosystems, and to focus on preserving not only the immense beauty of oceans, but also the economic value.

- Category: About the OCF
The OCF recognizes that in order to protect and restore the oceans while paving the way for sustainable utilization, chief decision makers across all disciplines need to be involved. By uniting leaders in government, corporations, NGOs, and the scientific community, we can find common ground and establish a network strong enough to solve global maritime natural resource challenges.
Establishing Relationships
The OCF facilitates relationship building between leaders in the government, corporate, NGO, and scientific communities in order to engage them in the dialogue on issues of ocean protection and sustainability. We do so by hosting regular events and programs involving leaders at the highest levels.
Collaboration
The OCF promotes collaboration between government, corporate, NGO, and scientific leaders in order to seek consensus on key issues involving protection and sustainable utilization of oceans and their ecosystems, as well as to work toward collaborative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges.
Consensus Building
The OCF promotes sharing of ideas between partners with different perspectives, ideologies, and areas of expertise in order to promote consensus on maritime conservation issues as well as creative, effective means of addressing the many challenges.
Resource Sharing
The OCF is comprised of partners from many arenas, each of which brings something different to the table. Sharing of resources—from financial to scientific to on-the-ground expertise—encourages the development of public/private partnerships, which exponentially increase the success of maritime conservation and sustainability programs.
Project Development
Building upon the relationships established by the OCF, as well as the partnerships formed and resources shared, OCF members are better equipped to develop successful projects in collaboration with one another. Working together, OCF and its partners have the opportunity to achieve innovative and effective solutions to the most pressing issues facing our oceans and ecosystems.

OCF has cultivated membership in the House and Senate Oceans Caucuses much the same way ICCF has done with the U.S. Congressional International Conservation Caucus: by focusing recruitment on key Members who will attract engagement from a broad array of their colleagues, and by ensuring the caucuses quickly become bipartisan in their membership and stay that way.
The ICCF Group
The ICCF Group is an umbrella organization that works to advance conservation governance by building political support, providing on-the-ground solutions, and applying a natural resource wealth management™ framework to sustainably develop and manage the earth’s natural resources.
The International Conservation Caucus Foundation (ICCF)
The ICCF brings together leaders at the highest level of government, business, and the NGO community. We set the conservation and environmental agenda by coordinating people with scientific expertise, organizations that support and manage programs on the ground, and policymakers who shape legislation.
The Conservation Council of Nations (CCN)
The Conservation Council of Nations exists to establish an international network that includes nations with the knowledge and expertise to address biodiversity and habitat loss and the consequences they may have on future generations. These nations need to guide developing nations to use natural resources in a sustainable fashion with the smallest environmental footprint in order to facilitate economic development.
